Under State of Florida Guidelines, a Registered Nurse can instruct
Home Health Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, Personal Care Assistants, Homemaker/Companions, and Licenced Practical Nurses and can provide direct hands on
skilled nursing assistance for the administration of medication
and treatments for the patient. An RN can also monitor the status
of patient care and report and take orders from the Physician
in charge of care.
Limitations: A Registered Nurse cannot prescribe medications.
